FRANCIS GEORGE <\/a>: Sir, the entry of the multi-nationals and big business in the retail trade sector has created a very difficult situation.\u00a0There has been very violent protest by the merchant associations and by various political parties.\u00a0 This is going to affect the livelihood of about 40 million retail trading community in the country.\u00a0 India has the high density of retail outlets in the world.\u00a0 Ninty eight per cent of the retail trade is done through unorganized sector, through the tiny family-owned shops, roadside kiosks, hawkers and street vendors.\u00a0 There are about half a million street vendors in urban India.\u00a0 Now a days, the big   <\/p>\n<p> \u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>*Not recorded<br \/>\n business groups &#8211; like Reliance Group, the RPG Group, the Aditya Birla Group, the Rahejas, the Wadias &#8211;\u00a0 are all into it.\u00a0 \u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: Be silent.\u00a0 No cross talks, please.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20K.%20FRANCIS%20GEORGE%20\">SHRI K. FRANCIS GEORGE <\/a>: I know, Sir, that we can\u2019t prevent it.\u00a0But, these people are creating shortages and price rise. They are cornering and stock-piling goods.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: It is not a debate, Mr. George.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20K.%20FRANCIS%20GEORGE%20\">SHRI K.
