Ramachandran Nair, J.\n\n          - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -\n                  W.P.(C) No. 11302 OF 2010\n          - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -\n              Dated this the 6th day of April, 2010\n\n                             JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>Ramachandran Nair,J.\n<\/p>\n<p>     This writ petition is a Public Interest Litigation filed by a<\/p>\n<p>Students Union for general direction to the nationalised and<\/p>\n<p>scheduled banks to accept the applications                       filed for<\/p>\n<p>educational loans by students, process the same and grant<\/p>\n<p>loans in terms of the norms adopted by Indian Banks<\/p>\n<p>Association.\n<\/p>\n<p>     2.   We have heard the counsel appearing for various<\/p>\n<p>banks who have submitted that they have processed<\/p>\n<p>applications and whoever was eligible was granted the loan.<\/p>\n<p>They further submitted that fresh applications coming also will<\/p>\n<p>be considered fairly, reasonably and in accordance with norms.<\/p>\n<p>     3. We do not think that general direction could be issued<\/p>\n<p>to the banks in any manner whatsoever because each<\/p>\n<p>application has to be considered by the bank in accordance<\/p>\n<p>with the norms and entitlement of the student. If any student<\/p>\n<p>W.P.(C) No. 11302 OF 2010<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\">                               -:2:-<\/span><\/p>\n<p>has a grievance against the bank declining loan unreasonably or<\/p>\n<p>against the norms, it is for the aggrieved student to take up the<\/p>\n<p>matter to the higher authorities in the bank or before Court, if<\/p>\n<p>required.\n<\/p>\n<p>      Since general directions cannot be issued in the matter, we<\/p>\n<p>deem it fit to close the writ petition by leaving it open to the<\/p>\n<p>aggrieved     student, whose    application  has  been   rejected<\/p>\n<p>unreasonably or against the norms, to take up the matter before<\/p>\n<p>the higher authorities or before Court.
