DATTU, CJ.\n<\/p>\n<p>      A public spirited citizen is before us inter alia seeking the following reliefs:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>              (i) issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ,<\/p>\n<p>              order   or   direction   commanding   the   respondents   to   take<\/p>\n<p>              immediate steps in a war foot manner to repair the roads<\/p>\n<p>              especially in the Corporations  like Cochin, without further<\/p>\n<p>              delay.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>              (ii)     issue   a   writ   of   mandamus   or   any   other   appropriate<\/p>\n<p>              writ, order or direction directing the authorities to forfeit the<\/p>\n<p>              salary of   respondents 1 to 3, due to the reason that they<\/p>\n<p>              not discharged their public duty and that money should be<\/p>\n<p>              made use to repair the roads just to show the public that<\/p>\n<p>              those who are responsible to discharge their duties for the<\/p>\n<p>              welfare of the State, should do the same.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>              (iii)     issue   a   writ   of   mandamus   or   any   other   appropriate<\/p>\n<p>              writ, order or direction directing the 4th and 5th respondents<\/p>\n<p>              to discharge their statutory responsibility to abet the public<\/p>\n<p>              nuisance   of   dilapidated   roads   by  invoking   section   144   of<\/p>\n<p>              the Cr.P.C.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>              (iv)   to   issue   any   other   writ,   order   or   direction   which   this<\/p>\n<p>              Hon&#8217;ble   Court   deem   fit   and   proper   as   per   the   facts   and<\/p>\n<p>              circumstances of the case.&#8221;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\">WPC No.23582\/2007                                     2<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>         2.     In   our   opinion   the   petition   filed   by   the   petitioner   is   wholly<\/p>\n<p>premature.  Before approaching this court for the reliefs sought for by him<\/p>\n<p>in the writ petition, he has necessarily to approach the representatives of<\/p>\n<p>the  people   who  hold   the  power  and  request   them   to  maintain  the  roads.\n<\/p>\n<p>Without doing so the petitioner has rushed to this court.  In that view of the<\/p>\n<p>matter the reliefs sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted by us at<\/p>\n<p>this stage.\n<\/p>\n<p>        Accordingly   the   writ   petition   is   rejected.     Liberty   is   reserved   to   the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner   to   approach   this   court,   if   he   so   desires,   at   an   appropriate   stage.\n<\/p>\n<p>Ordered accordingly.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                                         H.L.
