The appeal was scheduled for hearing on 16th April, 2010, but the<br \/>\nappellant did not avail of the opportunity of personal hearing. The appeal is<br \/>\ntherefore examined on merit.\n<\/p>\n<p>2.       On perusal of the documents submitted by the appellant, it is observed<br \/>\nthat he has asked for details of appointment of staff including education<br \/>\nqualifications. The CPIO has furnished partial information, while the remaining<br \/>\ninformation has been refused to him u\/s 8 (1) (e) and (j) of the Act on the ground<br \/>\nthat the information asked for relate to third party, the disclosure of which is not in<br \/>\npublic interest. Being dis-satisfied with the CPIO&#8217;s response, the appellant has<br \/>\npleaded for providing complete information.\n<\/p>\n<p>Decision:\n<\/p>\n<p>3.       The CPIO has furnished partial information, while the remaining<br \/>\ninformation has be refused u\/s 8 (1) (e) and (j) of the Act. The appellant has,<br \/>\nhowever, not indicated as to what the public interest in disclosure of information<br \/>\nrelating to the third parties nor mentioned as to how he is affected in the matter of<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                          1<\/span><br \/>\n recruitment of staff by the respondent. In view of this, the CPIO has correctly<br \/>\nrefused to provide the information relating to third parties u\/s 8 (1) (e) and (j) of<br \/>\nthe Act.\n<\/p>\n<p>4.
