Appellate Authority)\n                                    LIC of India\n\nDate of Hearing           :         27 September 2010 (through Video-Conference)\n\nDate of Decision         :         27 September 2010\n\nFacts<\/pre>\n<p>:- Through his RTI application of 24 February 2009 the applicant Shri Sanjay S<br \/>\nShanbhag sought information from the CPIO LIC of India, Mumbai regarding action<br \/>\ntaken on his letter of 14 December 2007 &#8212; enclosed herewith as Annexure A.\n<\/p>\n<p>The CPIO vide his order of 13 March 2009 informed the applicant that his letter of 14<br \/>\nDecember 2007 had been forwarded by the Chairman secretariat to the CRM<br \/>\nDepartment. Not being satisfied, the applicant preferred first appeal dated 24 March 2009<br \/>\nbefore the first appellate authority which was disposed of vide order of 6 April 2009<br \/>\nthrough which the order of the CPIO was upheld.\n<\/p>\n<p>Being aggrieved by the above orders the appellant preferred second appeal before the<br \/>\nCommission which was heard today. Both parties were present as above and heard<br \/>\nthrough videoconferencing.\n<\/p>\n<p>Respondent stated that the appellant had made several suggestions pertaining to the<br \/>\nimprovement in the functioning of LIC and therefore his application had been sent to the<br \/>\nCRM Department.\n<\/p>\n<p>The appellant stated that he desired to know through his RTI application what action was<br \/>\ntaken by the respondent on his suggestions. Appellant, by way of example explained the<br \/>\nissue highlighted by him at point .6 of his application.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                          Decision<\/p>\n<p>After hearing the averments of the respondent particularly in respect of his reply against<br \/>\npoint six of his letter of 14 December 2007, the Commission is convinced that the issue<br \/>\ncovers a larger public interest and merits a clear and unambiguous response from the<br \/>\nrespondent.\n<\/p>\n<p> Commission also is not satisfied with the manner in which the CPIO has disposed of the<br \/>\nRTI application by simply stating that the matter has been forwarded to their CRM<br \/>\nDepartment.\n<\/p>\n<p>Commission directs respondent to provide full and complete information regarding action<br \/>\ntaken by them on each of the suggestions made by the appellant and more particularly in<br \/>\nrespect of point .6. Information to be provided within four weeks of receipt of the order.\n<\/p>\n<p>Commission also notes that the language used by the appellant in his application is<br \/>\nobjectionable and offensive to the respondent. Appellant is directed to be more careful in<br \/>\nfuture and use the rights conferred on him by the RTI Act with greater responsibility<br \/>\nthrough use of appropriate language while addressing the representatives of the<br \/>\nrespondent.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                                  (Smt.
