JUSTICE KANWALJIT SINGH AHLUWALIA\n\nPresent:     Mr. Ghulam Nabi Malik, Advocate for the petitioner.\n\n\nKANWALJIT SINGH AHLUWALIA, J. (ORAL)\n<\/pre>\n<p>             Petitioner claims that respondents had issued a work order<\/p>\n<p>and in pursuance of that he had executed the work to the satisfaction of<\/p>\n<p>the respondents but due to acute shortage of funds, payment has not<\/p>\n<p>been made to the petitioner. Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that<\/p>\n<p>neither there is any defect in the work executed nor any legal impediment<\/p>\n<p>in the release of funds.\n<\/p>\n<p>             Issue notice of motion.\n<\/p>\n<p>             On the asking of the Court, Mr. Anil Kumar Sharma,<\/p>\n<p>Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the<\/p>\n<p>respondents. Copy of the petition has been supplied to him.<\/p>\n<p>             The present writ petition is disposed of by issuing directions to<\/p>\n<p>the respondents to release admitted payment to the petitioner, if there is<\/p>\n<p>no legal impediment, within three months from the date of receipt of copy<\/p>\n<p>of the order, failing which the petitioner shall be entitled to interest on the<\/p>\n<p>amount due at the rate of 8% per annum. The interest shall be calculated<\/p>\n<p>from the date of amount due till the final payment is made.
