Gupta\n\nPublic Authority:                               Chandigarh Police\n\nDate of Decision:                               24\/11\/2008\n\nFACTS<\/pre>\n<p>:-\n<\/p>\n<p>       In his letter of 01\/06\/2007, the Appellant mentions that he had received a call at<br \/>\nhis Phone No.4634580 from SI Baljeet Singh of Police Station-39 on 08\/01\/2007 at about<br \/>\n6.20 p.m. the said SI inquiring about Veer Pal Kaur from him. In this context the<br \/>\nAppellant sought the following information from the Public Authority:-\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>         &#8220;(i)     whether it was an official call or a private call made by SI Baljeet singh?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>         (ii)     If official, information regarding specific purpose of the call may kindly<br \/>\n                  be supplied.&#8221;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>2.      To this, CPIO responded vide his letter dated 15\/06\/2007 enclosing therewith<br \/>\ninformation received from Police Station-39, Chandigarh, which says that the maker of<br \/>\nthe call (name not readable), had made an official call on 08\/01\/2007 at 6.20 p.m. to<br \/>\nconfirm the telephone No. of Mrs. Veer Pal Kaur against whom a complaint had been<br \/>\nfiled and the phone call was attended by Shri D.C. Gupta and that no conversation was<br \/>\nmade in this call etc.<\/p>\n<p>3.     Not satisfied with this, the Appellant had filed an Appeal vide his letter dated<br \/>\n18\/06\/2007 but the decision of the First Appellate Authority is not available in the<br \/>\nCommission&#8217;s file.\n<\/p>\n<p>4.     Given the nature of information sought, it was decided to dispose of the Appeal<br \/>\nwithout hearing the parties.\n<\/p>\n<p>5.      The first query of the Appellant is whether the call in question was official or<br \/>\nprivate one. It is noteworthy that the Appellant was duly informed by the CPIO that as<br \/>\nper information received from Police Station-39, the call was an official one. As regards<br \/>\nthe second query, the purpose thereof has also been mentioned in the information<br \/>\nfurnished to the Appellant. It would, thus, appear that both the queries of the Appellant<br \/>\nstand duly answered.\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\"> 1175DCGuptaChdPolice                                           2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>6.     I restrain myself from making any observations about the nature of information<br \/>\nsought through these queries by the Appellant. Suffice to say that the queries stand duly<br \/>\nanswered and there is no merit in the Appeal filed before the Commission.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                        DECISION<\/p>\n<p>7.
