Justice K.K.DENESAN\n\n Dated :02\/03\/2007\n\n O R D E R\n                            K.K.DENESAN, J.\n\n                   -----------------------------\n\n                        WP(C)No. 2566 OF 2007\n\n                   -----------------------------\n\n                  Dated this the 2nd March, 2007.\n\n\n\n                                JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>      The   petitioners   are   Mechanical   Assistants   in   the   Oil<\/p>\n<p>Palm   India   Ltd.     The   reliefs   prayed   for   in   this   writ<\/p>\n<p>petition include issuance of writ of mandamus directing the<\/p>\n<p>third   respondent-Government   to   treat   the   category   of<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Mechanical   Assistants&#8217;   as   having   the   first   preference   for<\/p>\n<p>promotion   to   the   post   of   Plant   Operator   instead   of   the<\/p>\n<p>category of &#8216;Fitters&#8217;.   It is submitted that the rule which<\/p>\n<p>is   pending   before   the   Government   suffers   from   serious<\/p>\n<p>illegalities   and   that   the   petitioners   have   approached   the<\/p>\n<p>third   respondent   to   rectify   those   mistakes   before   approval<\/p>\n<p>is granted.   Ext.P2 representation is thus pending with the<\/p>\n<p>third   respondent.     Counsel   submits   that   this   Court   may<\/p>\n<p>direct   the   third   respondent   to   look   into   Ext.P2   before   the<\/p>\n<p>rules are approved.\n<\/p>\n<p>      2.    In the nature  of the  relief  sought for and  in the<\/p>\n<p>nature   of   the   directions   I   propose   to   issue,   notice   need<\/p>\n<p>not be issued to respondents 1 and 2.
