Justice ANTONY DOMINIC\n\n Dated :09\/11\/2009\n\n O R D E R\n                      ANTONY DOMINIC, J.\n                    ================\n                W.P.(C) NO. 29601 OF 2009 (U)\n                =====================\n\n          Dated this the 9th day of November, 2009\n\n                         J U D G M E N T\n<\/pre>\n<p>     Petitioner applied for the post of District Educational Officer<\/p>\n<p>in response to a notification published by the PSC. By Ext.P4, she<\/p>\n<p>has been informed that her candidature has been invalidated for<\/p>\n<p>the reason that as against her Register number 386, she wrote<\/p>\n<p>368 in the answer paper. It was therefore that her candidature<\/p>\n<p>was invalidated. The fact that the register number was wrongly<\/p>\n<p>written in the answer paper is not disputed. All that the petitioner<\/p>\n<p>contends is that even if a mistake has been committed, that did<\/p>\n<p>not disable the PSC from identifying her answer paper.<\/p>\n<p>     2.    In my view that is no answer to the mistake committed<\/p>\n<p>by the petitioner.    The instruction of the PSC required every<\/p>\n<p>candidate     to mention the register number correctly and<\/p>\n<p>admittedly the register number has been wrongly mentioned. If<\/p>\n<p>that be so, there is violation of the instructions, and the<\/p>\n<p>consequence is invalidation of the candidature. That is what PSC<\/p>\n<p>has done and they cannot be faulted for the same.<\/p>\n<p>     3.    In similar cases, this Court has upheld the action of the<\/p>\n<p>WPC 29601\/09<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\">                                  :2 :<\/span><\/p>\n<p>PSC in invalidating candidature vide judgment in WP(C)<\/p>\n<p>Nos.34380\/08 and 31378\/09.\n<\/p>\n<p>      For the aforesaid reasons, I do not find any merit in the writ<\/p>\n<p>petition.
