Petitioners 2<\/p>\n<p>to 5 are officers of that establishment.                  It appears that the<\/p>\n<p>petitioners have certain disputes with respondents 5 to 8 who<\/p>\n<p>are also employees of the first petitioner.                   They allege that<\/p>\n<p>respondents 5 to 10 are unlawfully obstructing the activities of<\/p>\n<p>the petitioners. They have made certain complaints to the police<\/p>\n<p>authorities. The private respondents appear and have placed a<\/p>\n<p>counter affidavit producing the notice issued by the District<\/p>\n<p>Labour Officer convening a conference. Obviously, it is within<\/p>\n<p>the province of the DLO to find out ways and means of an<\/p>\n<p>amicable settlement or to generate appropriate conciliatory or<\/p>\n<p>other means which could ultimately even lead to adjudicatory<\/p>\n<p>measures in terms of the provisions of the Industrial Disputes<\/p>\n<p>Act or otherwise.       However, the law and order has to be<\/p>\n<p>WPC.28809\/10<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                   2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>appropriately preserved. The rights of the petitioners to carry<\/p>\n<p>out their activities in accordance with law has to be preserved.<\/p>\n<p>However, under the guise of affording protection to such<\/p>\n<p>activity, the police are not to interfere with the peaceful<\/p>\n<p>agitations and other related activities which the employees are<\/p>\n<p>entitled to carry on in accordance with law, maintaining<\/p>\n<p>appropriate distance and discipline even in the matter of<\/p>\n<p>agitations.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>      For the aforesaid reasons, it is directed that the law and<\/p>\n<p>order situation as also peace and public tranquility will be<\/p>\n<p>appropriately maintained by the police ensuring appropriate<\/p>\n<p>protection to the life and property of the petitioners as also<\/p>\n<p>ingress and egress of the establishment etc. so that the business<\/p>\n<p>activities of the petitioners is in no manner impaired. The police<\/p>\n<p>would also not interfere with any peaceful activities by way of<\/p>\n<p>agitations etc. by the private respondents. The petitioners and<\/p>\n<p>the private respondents will endeavour to have the matter<\/p>\n<p>WPC.28809\/10<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                             3<\/span><\/p>\n<p>resolved at the earliest appropriately.
