KURIAKOSE, J.\n                ------------------------------------\n          W.P.(C) NOs. 2326,2448,2467,2518\/2004\n                -------------------------------------\n            Dated this the 26th day of July , 2007\n\n                            JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p id=\"p_1\">           Invoking the supervisory jurisdiction of this court<\/p>\n<p>under <a href=\"\/doc\/1331149\/\" id=\"a_1\">Article 227<\/a> and also under <a href=\"\/doc\/1712542\/\" id=\"a_1\">Article 226<\/a> of the Constitution<\/p>\n<p>the petitioner, who was the second respondent before the Motor<\/p>\n<p>Accident Claims Tribunal, Manjeri, has filed these writ petitions<\/p>\n<p>seeking to set aside Ext.P3 common award passed by the Motor<\/p>\n<p>Accident Claims Tribunal in 10 claim petitions arising out of the<\/p>\n<p>motor accidents involving jeep of which the petitioner is the<\/p>\n<p>registered owner.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_1\">      2. Heard Sri.T.K.Ajith Kumar, the learned counsel for the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner, Sri.Babu S.Nair, the learned counsel for the 2nd<\/p>\n<p>respondent and Sri.A.R.George the learned counsel for the 3rd<\/p>\n<p>respondent Insurance Company.         The contours of this court&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>jurisdiction under <a href=\"\/doc\/1331149\/\" id=\"a_2\">Article 227<\/a> are well known.       Having gone<\/p>\n<p>through Ext.P3, it is not possible to say that Ext.P3 order is<\/p>\n<p>vitiated to the extent of warranting corrections under the above<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\" id=\"span_1\">WPC No.2326\/2004 &amp; others        2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>jurisdiction which is exceptional. The para meters for exercising<\/p>\n<p>jurisdiction under <a href=\"\/doc\/1712542\/\" id=\"a_3\">Article 226<\/a> on judicial orders are also<\/p>\n<p>practically the same as those applicable to supervisory<\/p>\n<p>jurisdiction.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_2\">      2. The case of the petitioner is that he had just one month<\/p>\n<p>prior to the accident transferred the ownership and possession of<\/p>\n<p>the jeep in question to the 2nd respondent and that it was the<\/p>\n<p>obligation of the 2nd respondent to have submitted the sale<\/p>\n<p>letters, which had already been issued by        him to the 2nd<\/p>\n<p>respondent along with the agreement, before the authorities<\/p>\n<p>under the <a href=\"\/doc\/785258\/\" id=\"a_4\">Motor Vehicles Act<\/a> and facilitated mutation of entries<\/p>\n<p>in the register. The petitioner complains that the 2nd respondent,<\/p>\n<p>who was under the obligation to appraise the MACT of the true<\/p>\n<p>facts, willfully refrained from doing so which resulted in Ext.P3<\/p>\n<p>common award. The learned counsel would submit that the 2nd<\/p>\n<p>respondent had assured the petitioner even after the petitioner<\/p>\n<p>had received notice from the MACT that whatever is necessary<\/p>\n<p>will be done by the 2nd respondent so that the petitioner will be<\/p>\n<p>absolved from the liabilities under the pclaims.        I am not<\/p>\n<p>impressed by the above submission. Admittedly, the petitioner<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\" id=\"span_1\">WPC No.2326\/2004 &amp; others         3<\/span><\/p>\n<p>received notice from the MACT directing him to enter appearance<\/p>\n<p>before the MACT. On his own volition, he opted not to appear<\/p>\n<p>before the MACT. Concededly he is the registered owner and<\/p>\n<p>ownership has not changed.            The issue regarding the<\/p>\n<p>maintainability of the writ petition whether under Articles 226 or<\/p>\n<p>227 of the Constitution on a facts situation like the present one,<\/p>\n<p>is squarely covered by the decision of the Supreme Court in<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/doc\/991415\/\" id=\"a_5\">Sadhana Lodh v. National Insurance Co.Ltd<\/a>. and another<\/p>\n<p>(AIR 2003 SC 1561) , Full Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High<\/p>\n<p>Court in    <a href=\"\/doc\/1852293\/\" id=\"a_6\">National Insurance Co. Ltd. v. Shrikant Vinod<\/p>\n<p>Tiwari<\/a> (2007 (3) KLT SN 10 (A.P.) and Division Bench of this<\/p>\n<p>court in Ashraf v. Fthima (2004 (2) KlT 598).<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_3\">     The challenge against the impugned order fails. Accordingly,<\/p>\n<p>the writ petition is dismissed.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_4\">\n<p id=\"p_5\">                               PIUS C.
