SPEAKER: Shri Varkala Radhakrishnan \u2013 not present.\u00a0 Shri Basu Deb Acharia may speak.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_2\">SHRI <a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=BASU%20DEB%20ACHARIA\" id=\"a_1\">BASU DEB ACHARIA <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=BANKURA\" id=\"a_1\">BANKURA<\/a>): \u00a0Sir, six weeks before, the Tehelka Commission submitted its Report.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_3\">The Chairman of the Commission alongwith his Members and the lawyers went on a trip to Pune, Ahmednagar, Shirdi and Mumbai in an Air Force aircraft.\u00a0\u00a0 There are guidelines meant for the use of aircraft of the Indian Air Force by VIPs and VVIPs.\u00a0 Some lawyers of the Commission were also taken on the junket on a special chartered VIP aircraft of the Indian Air Force[bru13]\u00a0.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_4\">They travelled all these places.\u00a0 The reason that was given for this trip was they wanted to familiarise with the weapon system.\u00a0 One of the places they visited was Sydney.\u00a0 I do not know how they can familiarise with the weapon system by visiting a place like Sydney.\u00a0 They also accepted the hospitality of the Ministry of Defence. \u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_5\">MR. SPEAKER: We are only on the violation of the guidelines, not on hospitality.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_6\">SHRI <a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=BASU%20DEB%20ACHARIA\" id=\"a_2\">BASU DEB ACHARIA <\/a>: When they were inquiring into the purchase of weapons \u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_7\">MR. SPEAKER: Please do not refer to that.\u00a0 You can ask whether there are any permitted guidelines for the use of Air Force aircraft.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_8\">SHRI <a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=BASU%20DEB%20ACHARIA\" id=\"a_3\">BASU DEB ACHARIA <\/a>: Sir, there are guidelines for the use of Air Force aircraft.\u00a0I would like to know &#8212; the Defence Minister is present here &#8212; whether the guidelines have been violated.\u00a0 How was the Chairman of the Tehelka Commission was allowed to use the VVIP aircraft, which is used by the Prime Minister and the President? They were allowed to use that aircraft.\u00a0 I would like to know whether the Ministry of Defence or the Minister of Defence gave them permission to use the Air Force aircraft.\u00a0I would also like to know whether it has violated the guidelines.\u00a0 If it has violated the guidelines, what action was taken by the Ministry of Defence with regard to this?\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_9\">SHRI <a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=BASU%20DEB%20ACHARIA\" id=\"a_4\">BASU DEB ACHARIA <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=BANKURA\" id=\"a_5\">BANKURA<\/a>) : I have raised a very important issue.
