{"id":252819,"date":"2009-12-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-08T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-provide-financial-assistance-to-the-distressed-farmers-and-on-9-december-2009"},"modified":"2017-03-04T03:28:14","modified_gmt":"2017-03-03T21:58:14","slug":"need-to-provide-financial-assistance-to-the-distressed-farmers-and-on-9-december-2009","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-provide-financial-assistance-to-the-distressed-farmers-and-on-9-december-2009","title":{"rendered":"Need To Provide Financial Assistance To The Distressed Farmers And &#8230; on 9 December, 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"docsource_main\">Lok Sabha Debates<\/div>\n<div class=\"doc_title\">Need To Provide Financial Assistance To The Distressed Farmers And &#8230; on 9 December, 2009<\/div>\n<p id=\"p_1\">                                                      &gt; <\/p>\n<p>Title : Need to provide financial assistance to the distressed farmers and people affected due to heavy rains in Godavari river basin in Marthwada.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p id=\"p_1\">SHRI <a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=GANESHRAO%20NAGORAO%20DUDHGAONKAR\" id=\"a_1\">GANESHRAO NAGORAO DUDHGAONKAR <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=PARBHANI\" id=\"a_1\">PARBHANI<\/a>): I am raising long standing issue regarding problem being faced by people around Godavari river Basin Project in my Parbhani Constituency.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_2\">A major dam named the \u201cJayakwadi dam\u201d is located near Paithan, and is known for attracting a wide variety of resident and migratory birds.\u00a0 It is very important dam project for Marathwada area and supported by World Bank.\u00a0\u00a0 This dam project has experienced its worst flood in known history when the dam floodgates were opened because of heavy rainfall in the region recently.\u00a0 Due to heavy floods, many villages were wiped out situated in Shahagadh, Jalna, Parbhani and Nanded districts.\u00a0 More than 600 villages in these districts situated around Godavari river basin have faced heavy losses due to flood and heavy rain during the year 2006 and 2008.\u00a0 Many farmer\u2019s agriculture land has been washed away.\u00a0 Their important produces of Cotton seeds, sugarcane, banana, orange have been destroyed. Thus, they have lost all their investment, land, animals and importantly their homes in these natural calamities.\u00a0 The farmer\u2019s and common people are still in distressed condition and are facing lot of problems for their livelihood.\u00a0 No financial grants have been released from State and Central Government so far.\u00a0 There is an urgent need for providing financial aid to the farmers situated around Godavari river basin.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_3\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I request the Central Government to provide urgent financial assistance to the distressed farmers and people affected due to heavy rains in Marathwada region.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0   <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lok Sabha Debates Need To Provide Financial Assistance To The Distressed Farmers And &#8230;
