The Accountant General\nTeynampet\nChennai  18.\t\t           ...Respondents<\/pre>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t     (In all the W.Ps.)<\/p>\n<p>Prayer: This Writ Petitions came to be numbered under  Article 226 of the Constitution of India by way of transfer of O.A.Nos.976, 974 and 975  of 1999 from the file of the Tamil Administrative Tribunal with a prayer  to issue a Writ of Mandamus     directing the   respondents to pay the last drawn dearness allowance while they were  in service to them from the date of their retirement till date immediately with 18% interest per annum.\n<\/p>\n<pre>\t\t                 For Petitioner    \t    : Mr.P.Singaravelan\n                                 For Respondents     : Mr.B.Vijay\n\t\t\t\t\t\t             Govt. Advocate\nCOMON ORDER\n  \t\n<\/pre>\n<p>\t\tThese writ petitions have been filed to direct the   respondents to pay the last drawn dearness allowance while they were  in service to them from the date of their retirement till date immediately with 18% interest per annum.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t\t2.  Retired employees of the Education Department seek the above said relief. They seek the benefit of G.O.Ms.No.271, Finance (Pension) Department, dt. 15.6.1998, G.O.MS.No.272 Finance (Pension) Department, dt. 15.6.1887 and G.O.Ms.No.250 Finance Department, dated 30.6.98 stating that they will be entitled to the relief as sought for viz., dearness allowances.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t\t3.  Considering the nature of the relief sought for and since the claim has not been disposed of on merits, the petitioners are entitled to make a fresh representations to the appropriate authority if the grievance of the petitioners has not still been redressed and the concerned authority shall consider and dispose of the same in the light of the above said Government Orders within three months thereafter.  These writ petitions are disposed of accordingly.
