SIRI JAGAN &amp; ANTONY DOMINIC, JJ.\n\n             ---------------------------------------------\n\n                  W.P.(C) No. 11006 of 2009\n\n             ---------------------------------------------\n\n                    Dated: APRIL 21, 2009\n\n\n                          JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p id=\"p_1\">Siri Jagan, J.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_1\">\n<p id=\"p_2\">      The petitioner is a barber by profession.       One of the<\/p>\n<p>sister&#8217;s of the petitioner is married to the 4th respondent&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>son and in that wedlock a child was born to them.           The<\/p>\n<p>petitioner&#8217;s sister obtained a divorce on the ground of<\/p>\n<p>cruelty by the 4th respondent&#8217;s son.           The petitioner&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>grievance now is that the 4th respondent, the father-in-<\/p>\n<p>law of the petitioner&#8217;s sister, has influenced the police,<\/p>\n<p>pursuant to which the police is harassing the petitioner<\/p>\n<p>and his family. According to the petitioner, although the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner has obtained bail from the Magistrate in a<\/p>\n<p>criminal case charged against him at the instance of the<\/p>\n<p>4th respondent, the police is frequently coming to the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner&#8217;s house and harassing the petitioner, his<\/p>\n<p>W.P.(C) No. 11006 of 2009<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\" id=\"span_1\">                                2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>parents and his sisters.   The petitioner therefore seeks the<\/p>\n<p>following reliefs:-\n<\/p>\n<blockquote id=\"blockquote_1\"><p>     i) issue a writ of mandamus or any appropriate writ,<br \/>\n     order or direction directing the 1st respondent not to<br \/>\n     harass the petitioner and his family members by<br \/>\n     summoning to the police station.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote id=\"blockquote_1\"><p>     ii) issue a writ of mandamus or any appropriate writ,<br \/>\n     order or direction directing the 1st and 2nd respondents<br \/>\n     not to take any action against the petitioner on the<br \/>\n     basis of any frivolous complaint.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote id=\"blockquote_2\"><p>     iii) issue such other writ, order or direction as this court<br \/>\n     may deem fit to grant in the facts and circumstances of<br \/>\n     this case.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p id=\"p_3\">\n<p id=\"p_4\">     2.    The learned Government Pleader on instructions<\/p>\n<p>submits that the petitioner has been directed to be present<\/p>\n<p>in the police station as part of the investigation of the crime<\/p>\n<p>charged against the petitioner, which cannot be termed as<\/p>\n<p>harassment. The learned Government Pleader disputes the<\/p>\n<p>averments in the writ petition regarding harassment.<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_5\">     3. After hearing both sides, we dispose of this writ<\/p>\n<p>petition with the following directions:-<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_6\">     If the police wants the presence of the petitioner in<\/p>\n<p>     connection with the investigation of the criminal case<\/p>\n<p>W.P.(C) No. 11006 of 2009<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\" id=\"span_1\">                             3<\/span><\/p>\n<p>    against the petitioner, he shall be issued with a notice<\/p>\n<p>    for being present in the police station on a particular<\/p>\n<p>    day. The police shall not harass the petitioner in any<\/p>\n<p>    manner in the guise of the investigation.<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_7\">                                   S.
