Respondents \n\nPrayer: Writ petition came to be numbered by transfer of O.A.No.8939 of 1998 on the file of the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal praying to quash the government letter issued by the first respondent herein in his Lr.No.27857\/Pol.II\/98-4 dated 31.08.1998 and consequentially direct the respondents to include the applicant's name in the regular panel of Inspectors of Police fit for promotion as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cat-1) for the year 1992-93 in the appropriate place with due seniority and all other consequential benefits and direct the respondents to promote him as Deputy Superintendent of Police with effect from the date of promotion of his immediate junior.\n \n\t\tFor Petitioner\t: Mr.S.Ravi\n\n\t\tFor Respondents\t: Mr.B.Vijay\n                                           Govt.Advocate \t\t\n\n\n\n\nO R D E R\n<\/pre>\n<p id=\"p_1\">\t\tThis writ petition is filed to quash the government letter issued by the first respondent herein in his Lr.No.27857\/Pol.II\/98-4 dated 31.08.1998 and consequentially direct the respondents to include the applicant&#8217;s name in the regular panel of Inspectors of Police fit for promotion as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cat-1) for the year 1992-93 in the appropriate place with due seniority and all other consequential benefits and direct the respondents to promote him as Deputy Superintendent of Police with effect from the date of promotion of his immediate junior.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_1\">  \t\t2.  The petitioner was 53 years old at the time of filing the original application and has already super-annuated.  At this point of time, the relief sought for cannot be granted.  Hence, this writ petition is dismissed infructuous.
