The steam Locomotive POH shop had been converted to Electric Loco POH shop in 1985. The target of out turn gradually enhanced from three locos to five locos per month and it had proved its worth by beating the target. In addition to that, it undertook the workload of full and partial re-cabling, twin pipe modification, dual brake conversion, 6 P conversion, high-speed gear ratio conversion so on and so forth. It could do the job towards camber rectification and rehabilitation of locos sustaining substantial damage in major accidents. It had achieved success in incorporating Microprocessor controlled unit, development of improvised Alarm Chain Pulling System and Air Flow Measuring System. Now the workload and target of this workshop has radically brought down. Similar curtailment of workload is being imposed upon the other branches like Diesel Loco, Carriage and Wagon POH shops and the biggest printing press of Indian Railways.
