There is a studied and continued silence on the part of the Government of India. It is one of the most surprising things.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_2\">MR. CHAIRMAN: Where is she now?\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_3\">SHRI <a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SANTOSH%20GANGWAR\" id=\"a_1\">SANTOSH GANGWAR <\/a>: Her interview was there in the NDTV today. [MSOffice82]\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0SHRI <a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=KHARABELA%20SWAIN\" id=\"a_2\">KHARABELA SWAIN <\/a>: She was in the most secular State of India like West Bengal. Do you want that in a country like India she should be removed out of that place just to pander the whims of the obscurantist Islamic fundamentalists? This is the sort of secularism that is being adopted by the Government of West Bengal.\u00a0 We say that India is a free country.\u00a0 What sort of freedom do we have?\u00a0 You may take the example of West where all sort of political refugees from various countries of the world take shelter.\u00a0 This is what democracy and freedom is.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_4\">So, my point is, Taslima Nasreen should be given the status of political refugee in India.\u00a0 The Government of India should give her protection.\u00a0 Everything should not be turned into a vote bank politics either by the Government of India or by the Government of West Bengal.\u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_5\">MR.
