GIRI, J.\n                       -------------------------------\n                     W.P(C) No. 5856 OF 2008\n                     -----------------------------------\n                Dated this the 3rd day of March, 2008\n\n                              JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>        Petitioner&#8217;s father K.K.Ramesan died in harness on<\/p>\n<p>22.09.05.     Petitioner made an application on 18.05.06, for<\/p>\n<p>appointment under the dying-in-harness scheme. His claim was<\/p>\n<p>accepted and orders have been issued as per Ext.P1 for<\/p>\n<p>appointing him in a suitable post. Petitioner&#8217;s grievance is that<\/p>\n<p>appointment orders have not been issued so far.<\/p>\n<p>       Learned Government Pleader on instructions submits that<\/p>\n<p>orders of appointment are issued to the beneficiaries under the<\/p>\n<p>compassionate appointment scheme, going by a list of seniority<\/p>\n<p>list prepared with reference to the date of application. On account<\/p>\n<p>of the fact that the number of applicants are much more than the<\/p>\n<p>number of posts reserved for compassionate appointment, only<\/p>\n<p>persons who have registered their application up to 19.02.04 have<\/p>\n<p>been appointed so far. As stated above, petitioner had applied on<\/p>\n<p>18.05.06.    It is assured that the petitioner will also be issued<\/p>\n<p>orders of appointment going by the date of application.        This<\/p>\n<p>submission is recorded and the Writ Petition is disposed of<\/p>\n<p>WPC No. 5856 OF 2008<br \/>\n<span class=\"hidden_text\">                                  2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>directing the 2nd respondent to issue orders of appointment to the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner depending upon the availability of vacancies and going<\/p>\n<p>by the order of seniority as mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>                                             V.
