(Dr. Blt. Krishna Murthy \u2013 The Dravidian Languages Cambridge University Press 2003).\u00a0 This then puts the antiquity of the language at about 3000 years.\u00a0 Telugu appears on the coins issued by Satavahana kings during 1st century B.C. and later on the inscriptions of the Buddhist stupa of Amaravati in the present Guntur District.\u00a0 Names of Telugu places and personal names occur from 1st century B.C. in almost all available inscriptions.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_3\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I, therefore, request the Central Government to declare \u2018Telugu\u2019 as an ancient and classical language.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0   <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lok Sabha Debates Regarding Need To Declare \u00c2\u20ac\u02dcTelugu\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 As A Classical Language. on 22 February, 2006 an&gt; Title : Regarding need to declare \u2018Telugu\u2019 as a classical language.
