Respondents\n\n                 Petition filed under <a href=\"\/doc\/1712542\/\" id=\"a_1\">Article 226<\/a> of the Constitution of India\npraying for issuance of writ of habeas corpus as stated therein.\n\nFor petitioner :  Mr.  N.  Doraisamy\n\nFor respondents :  Mr.  Abudukumar Rajarathinam \n                 Govt., Advocate (Crl.)\n\n:ORDER  \n<\/pre>\n<p id=\"p_1\">(Order of the Court was made by P.  SATHASIVAM,J.,)<br \/>\n                         The petitioner by name Ganapathy, challenges the<br \/>\nimpugned order of detention dated 27.07.2005, detaining his friend<br \/>\nKrishnamurthy, as &#8220;Goonda&#8221; under Section 3 (1) of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of<br \/>\nDangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas,<br \/>\nImmoral Traffic Offenders and Slum Grabbers Act, 1982 (in short &#8221; <a href=\"\/doc\/195458\/\" id=\"a_1\">Tamil Nadu<br \/>\nAct<\/a> 14 of 1982&#8243;).\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_1\">                         2.  Heard both sides.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_2\">                         3.  The learned counsel for the petitioner has raised<br \/>\nthe only contention that though the detenu received a reply dated 28.09.2005<br \/>\nfrom the Government mentioning that all the documents were served to one<br \/>\nPadhma, according to the counsel, she is not related to any one.  He also<br \/>\npoints out that even in respect of other detenus her name has been mentioned.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_3\">                         4.  With regard to the said contention, we sought<br \/>\nclarification from the learned Government Advocate.  From the records, learned<br \/>\nGovernment Advocate brought to our notice that immediately after the arrest of<br \/>\nthe accused, the arrest intimation, copy of the arrest memo, remand order,<br \/>\netc., were communicated to the mother of the detenu by name Padhma.  He also<br \/>\nbrought to our notice that the detenu was detained as Goonda by proceedings<br \/>\ndated 27.07.2005 and the same was intimated to his wife by name Ilavarasi on<br \/>\n28.07.2005.  He also produced the acknowledgment to show that the same was<br \/>\nreceived by his wife Ilavarasi.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_4\">                         On going through the above materials, we are unable to<br \/>\naccept the only contention raised by the learned counsel for the petitioner.<br \/>\nExcept the above said contention, no other contention was raised; hence, this<br \/>\npetition fails and the same is dismissed.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_5\">To\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"p_6\">1.
