{"id":28060,"date":"2005-03-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-03-01T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-commence-with-the-gauge-conversion-work-on-on-2-march-2005"},"modified":"2018-02-24T08:53:47","modified_gmt":"2018-02-24T03:23:47","slug":"need-to-commence-with-the-gauge-conversion-work-on-on-2-march-2005","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-commence-with-the-gauge-conversion-work-on-on-2-march-2005","title":{"rendered":"Need To Commence With The Gauge Conversion Work On &#8230; on 2 March, 2005"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"docsource_main\">Lok Sabha Debates<\/div>\n<div class=\"doc_title\">Need To Commence With The Gauge Conversion Work On &#8230; on 2 March, 2005<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>                                          &gt; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=Title\">Title<\/a>:  Need to commence with the gauge conversion work on Virudhunagar-Manamadurai route by allocating adequate funds.- Laid.   <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20RAVICHANDRAN%20SIPPIPARAI%20\">SHRI RAVICHANDRAN SIPPIPARAI <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SIVAKASI\">SIVAKASI<\/a>): The Tenkasi \u2013 Virudhunagar broad gauge conversion has been completed and the Manamadurai \u2013 Madurai broad gauge conversion is nearing for completion.\u00a0 Now in the coming year it is proposed to start the gauge conversion work between Trichy and Puddukottai. <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Along with the conversion in this section, it is necessary for the gauge conversion in between Virudhunagar and Manamadurai for a distance of 67 KM.\u00a0 It the Virudhunagar \u2013 Manamadurai broad gauge work is completed it would be easy for the passenger trains and goods trains to reach Trichy from Virudhunagar as an alternate route to the existing rouge throuhg Madurai \u2013 Dindigul which is a highly congested due to which some times accidents may also occur.\u00a0 Moreover, the MSL (Mean Sea Level) in the Virudhunagar- Manamadurai is much lower compared to Madurai \u2013 Dindigul \u2013 Trichy Sector whereby consumption of fuel can be reduced.\u00a0 Further, it will be useful for the large number of Rameswaram bound devotees from the Southern districts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Now, I request the Minister to take up the Virudhunagar \u2013 Manamadurai broad gauge route through Aruppukkottai in the coming financial year by allotting adequate funds for preliminary work.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>\u2026 (Interruptions) <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR.
