Smt Manjulika Gautam, Secretary, Department of Women and Child Development of the Government of Uttar Pradesh is present in person. She assures us that she herself or a senior officer deputed by her for the purpose would visit the Agra Protective Home to ensure prompt action in respect of matters of urgency and commencement of the necessary steps in respect of the other deficiencies which have been pointed out and those which may be discovered on inspection of the Home in this manner. She also assures us that prompt action would be taken to ensure performance of the statutory obligations within a period of one month from today. The learned District Judge, Agra is requested to coordinate with the Secretary, Department of Women and Child Development for a proper and effective completion of this exercise. It has also been brought to our notice that there have been irregularities in discharge of some of the inmates because of lack of proper scrutiny while making such orders. Learned District Judge is requested to ensure that a proper scrutiny is made by the judicial officer concerned before making an order of discharge of an inmate of the Home. The District Judge may also formulate broad guidelines to facilitate the exercise.\n<\/p>\n<p> 2. The Secretary, Department of Women and Child Development is required to submit a compliance report by the next date.\n<\/p>\n<p> 3.
