The<br \/>\nrespondents on 21.07.1993 issued notice to the petitioners to<br \/>\nretrench their services. It is the case of the petitioners that the<br \/>\naction of the respondents is illegal inasmuch as the<br \/>\nrespondents have not regularized the service of the petitioners,<br \/>\nthough they have served the respondents for so many years.   Being<br \/>\naggrieved by the said inaction on the part of the respondents, the<br \/>\npetitioners have approached this Court by way of these petitions.\n<\/p>\n<p>4.\t\tHeard<br \/>\nlearned counsel for the respective parties and perused the document<br \/>\non record. It appears from the record that the petitioners<br \/>\nappointment with the respondents at the initial stage was purely on<br \/>\ncontractual basis as per the requirement of the work. Apart from that<br \/>\nthere was also break in services of the petitioners from time to time<br \/>\nsince the work of the petitioners was purely on contract basis.<br \/>\nLooking to the facts of the case, I am of the opinion that the<br \/>\npetitioners services cannot be regularized as the same was on<br \/>\ncontractual basis. Hence, no illegality or infirmity has been<br \/>\ncommitted by the respondents while issuing the impugned notices, and<br \/>\nI do not find any reasons to interfere with the same under Article<br \/>\n226 of the Constitution of India.\n<\/p>\n<p>5.\t\tIn<br \/>\nthe result, the petitions are dismissed.  Rule is discharged.
