Justice R.BASANT\n\n Dated :19\/02\/2007\n\n O R D E R\n                                  R.BASANT, J\n\n                         ------------------------------------\n\n                          W.P(C).No.34187 of 2006\n\n                        -------------------------------------\n\n                  Dated this the  19th day of February, 2007\n\n\n                                J U D G M E N T\n<\/pre>\n<p>         The   grievance   of   the   petitioner   is   that   Ext.P5   complaint<\/p>\n<p>submitted  by   him   though   received   by   the   police,   no   action   has   been<\/p>\n<p>taken on such complaint.  That complaint is dated 15.12.06.\n<\/p>\n<p>         2.    The   learned   Government   Pleader   was   directed   to   take<\/p>\n<p>instructions.     The   learned   Government   Pleader   now   submits   that   a<\/p>\n<p>crime has been registered as Crime No.44 of 2007 of Alappuzha South<\/p>\n<p>Police   Station   and   the   investigation   is   now   continuing.     Though<\/p>\n<p>belated, I take note that steps have been taken and the investigation<\/p>\n<p>is in progress.   In these circumstances, I am satisfied, that no further<\/p>\n<p>directions deserve to be issued.\n<\/p>\n<p>         3.    This   W.P(C)   is,   in   these   circumstances,   dismissed,<\/p>\n<p>accepting   the   submission   that   a   crime   has   been   registered   and   the<\/p>\n<p>investigation is in progress as stated above.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                         (R.BASANT, JUDGE)<\/p>\n<p>rtr\/-\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">2<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                             3<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The   grievance   of   the   petitioner   is   that   Ext.P5   complaint,   alleging<\/p>\n<p>removal   of   his   vehicle   by   goondas   by   manhandling   the   driver   and<\/p>\n<p>criminally   intimidating   him,   though   received   by   the   police,   did   not<\/p>\n<p>evoke any action on the part of the police.  A statement has been filed<\/p>\n<p>by   the   respondent.     It   shows   clearly   that   the   complaint   has   been<\/p>\n<p>received.    If complaint  alleging commission of cognizable  offences  is<\/p>\n<p>received   by   the   police,   the   police   is   duty   bound   to   register   a   crime.\n<\/p>\n<p>The   learned   Government   Pleader   on   instructions   concedes   that   the<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                          4<\/span><\/p>\n<p>complaint   has   been   received   revealing   commission   of   cognizable<\/p>\n<p>offences.    The  learned  Government  Pleader   prays   for   time   to  do   the<\/p>\n<p>needful.  The needful shall be done within a period of 7 days.\n<\/p>\n<p>         2.
