Justice A.K.BASHEER\n\n Dated :19\/06\/2007\n\n O R D E R\n                        A.K.BASHEER,J\n                   ================\n                    W.P.(C).No.8979 of 2007\n                  ==================\n               Dated this the 19th day of June,2007\n\n\n                           JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>      Petitioner is a retired Selection Grade Lecturer.      His<\/p>\n<p>grievance is that a sum of Rs.8,520\/- which was credited to his<\/p>\n<p>Provident Fund Account bearing No.1217, has not yet been<\/p>\n<p>released to him though more than five years have elapsed after<\/p>\n<p>his retirement.      He prays for appropriate orders for<\/p>\n<p>disbursement of the said amount with interest. According to the<\/p>\n<p>petitioner, the total amount payable with interest would now<\/p>\n<p>come to Rs.12,850\/-.\n<\/p>\n<p>      2.    Learned   Government       Pleader    after  getting<\/p>\n<p>instructions, submits that the Principal of the institution had<\/p>\n<p>remitted the above sum of Rs.8,520\/- to the Provident Fund<\/p>\n<p>Account of the petitioner only on July 25, 2002, three months<\/p>\n<p>after the retirement of the petitioner.     In his communication<\/p>\n<p>dated June 1, 2007, it is informed by the Director that interest<\/p>\n<p>cannot be granted to the petitioner after submitting the closure<\/p>\n<p>application and therefore petitioner would not be eligible to get<\/p>\n<p>W.P.(C).No.8979\/2007<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                 :2:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>interest.    He further informed that the Dearness Allowance<\/p>\n<p>arrear will be released soon after receipt of the schedule counter<\/p>\n<p>signed by the Deputy Director of Collegiate Education, Kollam.<\/p>\n<p>        Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction<\/p>\n<p>to respondents 1 to 3 to ensure that the sum of Rs.8,520\/- lying<\/p>\n<p>to the credit of the petitioner in his Provident Fund account and<\/p>\n<p>arrears of Dearness Allowance if any payable to the petitioner<\/p>\n<p>shall be disbursed to him as expeditiously as possible, at any<\/p>\n<p>rate, within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this<\/p>\n<p>judgment.
