The complainant did not avail of the opportunity of personal hearing on\n08\/08\/2008. The complaint is, therefore, examined on merit.\n\n\n2.     The complainant has alleged that information asked for vide his application\ndated 18.01.2008, have not been furnished to him by the CPIO of the respondent.<\/pre>\n<p>First Appellate Authority also did not bother to respond.\n<\/p>\n<p>3.     Subsequently, the complainant informed the Commission that he has been<br \/>\nprovided the information by the CPIO vide his letter dated 13.05.2008, after<br \/>\nsubmission of 2nd appeal before the Commission. The complainant pleaded for<br \/>\nimposition of penalty u\/s 20(1) of the Act and to award compensation u\/s 19(8) (b) of<br \/>\nthe Act.\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">1<\/span><\/p>\n<p>                            If you don&#8217;t ask, you don&#8217;t get &#8211; Mahatma Gandhi<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                             1<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p> 4.      The CPIO is directed to submit his explanation at the earliest for delay in<br \/>\nproviding the information, failing which penalty proceedings u\/s 20 (1) of the Act<br \/>\nwould be initiated.\n<\/p>\n<p>5.      Complainant&#8217;s plea for compensation is illogical as he could not substantiate<br \/>\nas to what detriment he has suffered due to non-furnishing of the information desired<br \/>\nby him.\n<\/p>\n<p>6.
