SIRI JAGAN, J.\n\n                         --------------------------\n\n                      W.P.(C)No.29295 OF 2007\n\n                          -------------------------\n\n                Dated this the 13th day of November, 2007\n\n\n                                JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>      The petitioner is a doctor in the Medical Education Service.\n<\/p>\n<p>He   has   been   proceeded   against   in   disciplinary   proceedings   for<\/p>\n<p>unauthorized   absence.     Memo   of   charges   were   issued   and   an<\/p>\n<p>enquiry   was   conducted   in   which   he   was   found   guilty.     The<\/p>\n<p>punishment   of   removal   from  service  has  been  imposed  on  him.\n<\/p>\n<p>The   petitioner   is   challenging   the   same.     The   petitioner   has   no<\/p>\n<p>grievance   regarding   the   procedure   adopted   in   the   disciplinary<\/p>\n<p>proceedings.    The  petitioner  also  does  not   dispute  the  fact  that<\/p>\n<p>the petitioner was in fact unauthorisedly absent.  The petitioner&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>grievance is that the punishment of removal from service is too<\/p>\n<p>harsh.\n<\/p>\n<p>      I   am   of   opinion   that   the   petitioner   having   proceeded   on<\/p>\n<p>leave without getting the leave sanctioned, cannot now complain<\/p>\n<p>about   the   proceedings   adopted   by   the   Government.     The<\/p>\n<p>Government   is   facing   a   situation   where   there   are   not   enough<\/p>\n<p>doctors   in   the   State   Service.     As   such,   the   Government   has   to<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">W.P.(c)No. 29295\/07                    2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>deal   with  persons who  are  unauthorisely  absent  very  sternly.\n<\/p>\n<p>As   such,   I   do   not   find   anything   wrong   with   the   Government<\/p>\n<p>imposing punishment of removal from service on a doctor, who<\/p>\n<p>has been unauthorisedly absent for long.   Therefore, I do not<\/p>\n<p>find any merit in the writ petition and accordingly the same is<\/p>\n<p>dismissed.\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                   S.
