This writ<\/p>\n<p>petition is filed challenging the demand in Exts.P1 and P3 letters for<\/p>\n<p>payment for service connection charges of Rs.50,000\/-. In view of the<\/p>\n<p>interim order of stay passed by this Court on 11.8.2008, the petitioner<\/p>\n<p>did not pay the service connection charges demanded from them. It is<\/p>\n<p>now conceded at the Bar that pursuant to the orders passed by the<\/p>\n<p>Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission on 8.9.2010,           the<\/p>\n<p>Board has issued an order dated 14.10.2010 dispensing                with<\/p>\n<p>collection of service connection charges from high tension and extra<\/p>\n<p>high tension consumers. The order further directs that the amount<\/p>\n<p>collected by way of service collection charges will be adjusted against<\/p>\n<p>the future bills.\n<\/p>\n<p>              In the light of the decision taken by the Board to dispense<\/p>\n<p>with the collection of service connection charges, in the wake of the<\/p>\n<p>decision of the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission, the<\/p>\n<p>writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents not to<\/p>\n<p>enforce the demand made in Exts.P1 and P3.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>                                               P.N.
