{"id":67927,"date":"2010-08-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-08-24T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-start-construction-of-proposed-thermal-power-project-in-on-25-august-2010"},"modified":"2016-12-15T07:10:15","modified_gmt":"2016-12-15T01:40:15","slug":"need-to-start-construction-of-proposed-thermal-power-project-in-on-25-august-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/judgments\/need-to-start-construction-of-proposed-thermal-power-project-in-on-25-august-2010","title":{"rendered":"Need To Start Construction Of Proposed Thermal Power Project In &#8230; on 25 August, 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"docsource_main\">Lok Sabha Debates<\/div>\n<div class=\"doc_title\">Need To Start Construction Of Proposed Thermal Power Project In &#8230; on 25 August, 2010<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>                                                      &gt; <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=Title\">Title<\/a>: Need to start construction of proposed Thermal Power Project in Kathua district, Jammu &amp; Kashmir.   <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=CHAUDHARY%20LAL%20SINGH%20\">CHAUDHARY LAL SINGH <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=UDHAMPUR\">UDHAMPUR<\/a>): \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (JKPDC) identified three locations for establishment of Thermal Power Projects each one in Kashmir, Rajouri &amp; Kathua District in the State of Jammu &amp; Kashmir.\u00a0 The proposal has been sent to the Central Government.\u00a0 The NTPC examined the proposal in detail and found only one project feasible, which was proposed to be established along River Ujh, at Kathua District.\u00a0 The NTPC also prepared the pre-feasibility Report of the project\u00a0 in the year 2004 and submitted the same to Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDC) for further action and to initiate the tendering process, for preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR).\u00a0 One Thousand\u00a0 Kanals of land for the said project has also been identified and if necessary, more land can be made available.\u00a0\u00a0 More than 6 years have been elapsed, the JKPDC could not initiate the tendering process till date and may be, not in a position to prepare the same.\u00a0\u00a0 The establishment of Thermal Power Project at Kathua District, is essential in the larger interest of the people of Jammu &amp; Kashmir.\u00a0 Further delay in commissioning,\u00a0\u00a0may jeopardize the interest of the people of the State, where the growth rate of educated\u00a0 unemployed youths is increasing day by day.\n<\/p>\n<p>I, therefore, urge the Government to direct the concerned authorities to get the DPR of Ujh 1000 M.W. Thermal Power Project, prepared by NTPC so that the<br \/>\n pre-construction activities, at the proposed site, could be started, at the earliest.\u00a0 This will indeed also pacify a section of youths of the state, who will be employed in the proposed project.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0   <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lok Sabha Debates Need To Start Construction Of Proposed Thermal Power Project In &#8230;
