KARUNAKARAN <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=KASARGOD\">KASARGOD<\/a>): Mr. Chairman, Sir, I would like to place before the House some important issues concerning the freedom fighters in our country.\u00a0 Sir, a good number of freedom fighters who received \u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20CHAIRMAN\">MR. CHAIRMAN<\/a>: Nobody will stay here till this time.\u00a0 I am doing it every day.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20K.%20FRANCIS%20GEORGE%20\">SHRI K. FRANCIS GEORGE <\/a>: Sir, we are all grateful to you for your kind gesture.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20CHAIRMAN\">MR. CHAIRMAN<\/a>: I am remaining here everyday for this purpose.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Now, Shri P. Karunakaran.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20P.%20KARUNAKARAN%20\">SHRI P. KARUNAKARAN <\/a>: Sir, a good number of freedom fighters who received the State pension are denied the Central pension without valid reasons.[R65]\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p> \u00a02 [r66]\u00a0 0.00 hrs.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Central Government and the State Governments have identified\u00a0 the Freedom Fighters years back.\u00a0 Various State Governments have formed the Monitoring Committees at the State and District levels.\u00a0 It is with the recommendations of these Committees that the State Governments decide the deserving persons in granting pension.\u00a0 But the Ministry of Home Affairs has sanctioned the Central pension only to a few persons.\u00a0 There is no justification for denial of the Central pension to the deserving persons.\u00a0\u00a0The well-known Anti-Imperialist Struggles such\u00a0 as Kayyur, Karivallur, Munayamkunnu, Punnapra, Yayalar etc., in Kerala; Thebagha Telengana in Andhra Pradesh, the struggles in Goa and various other States\u00a0 are all parts of the Freedom Struggle.\u00a0 The total number of Freedom Fighters is less. Many of them are old and on sickbed.\u00a0 But it is very unfortunate that even after 60 years of the Independence, the UPA Government is not ready to take up this issue.\n<\/p>\n<p>I would request them, at least, to do justice with the Freedom Fighters, who sacrificed their lives for this noble cause of our Freedom Struggle..\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20CHAIRMAN%20\">MR. CHAIRMAN <\/a>: Now, Shri Kharventhan&#8230;\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20K.%20FRANCIS%20GEORGE%20\">SHRI K. FRANCIS GEORGE <\/a>: Sir, I would also like to associate myself on this issued raised by Shri Karunakaran.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20C.K.%20CHANDRAPPAN%20\">SHRI C.K. CHANDRAPPAN <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=TRICHUR\">TRICHUR<\/a>):\u00a0 Sir, my name may also be associated with what Shri Karunakaran has said\u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p>MR.
