This writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of Mandamus, to<br \/>\ndirect the respondent to disburse the schedule amount of Rs.1,70,553\/-, with<br \/>\ninterest, for the completion of work of removal of silt and fallen earth, from<br \/>\nL.S.17400m to 21000m, in left main canal of Palar Porundalar Dam, situated at<br \/>\nPalani Taluk, Dindigul District.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t3.  Though the prayer sought for by the petitioner, in the present writ<br \/>\npetition, is for a larger relief, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the<br \/>\npetitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to<br \/>\ndispose of the representation, dated 15.10.2007, within a specified period.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the<br \/>\nrespondents has no objection for this Court passing such an order.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on<br \/>\neither side, the respondent is directed to dispose of the representation, dated<br \/>\n15.10.2007, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner , as well<br \/>\nas to the other parties concerned, on merits and in accordance with law, within<br \/>\na period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The<br \/>\npetitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated<br \/>\n15.10.2007, to the respondent, along with a copy of this order. However, it is<br \/>\nmade clear that this Court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the<br \/>\nmerits of the matter.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t6. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
