Ramachandran Nair, J.\n                    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -\n                       W.P.(C) No. 10498 of 2010-J\n                    - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -\n                 Dated this the 17th day of June, 2010.\n\n                                  JUDGMENT\n<\/pre>\n<p>       The writ petitioner, a lawyer by profession, is aggrieved by the grant<\/p>\n<p>of licence to run lodges near his residence. The main prayer in the writ<\/p>\n<p>petition is the following:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>       &#8220;to issue a writ of certiorari or other appropriate writ, order or<br \/>\n       direction directing the Municipal Corporation to cancel the license<\/p>\n<p>       for those who have not obeyed building rules and Hotel Receipt Tax<\/p>\n<p>       Rules and no sufficient number of entries and drains and space for car<\/p>\n<p>       park.&#8221;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is pointed out by the learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation that no<\/p>\n<p>specific instances have been pointed out in the writ petition and the<\/p>\n<p>allegations are too vague, even for the Corporation to verify the particulars.<\/p>\n<p>A reading of the grounds of the writ petition also shows that the petitioner<\/p>\n<p>has not pin-pointed any specific instances of violation of the provisions of<\/p>\n<p>the Rules and Acts mentioned therein, in respect of any particular licensee.<\/p>\n<p>       2. In that view of the matter, as the prayer made by the petitioner is<\/p>\n<p>so general in nature, no relief can be granted in the writ petition. The same<\/p>\n<p>is dismissed without prejudice to the right of the petitioner to move before<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">wpc 10498\/2010                       2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>the appropriate authority if he has got any specific allegations in respect of<\/p>\n<p>any particular lodges or any particular institutions, etc. No costs.<\/p>\n<p>                                    (T.R.
