Employees, Including The &#8230; on 22 March, 2005<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>                                          &gt; <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=Title\">Title<\/a>:  Need to look into the problems of H.M.T. employees, including the issues relating to wage revision.   <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20P.C.%20THOMAS%20\">SHRI P.C. THOMAS <\/a>(<a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MUVATTUPUZHA\">MUVATTUPUZHA<\/a>): Sir, the Hindustan Machine Tools is one of the major public sector undertakings in our country, with six units across the country from Srinagar to Kerala.\u00a0 Its employees are in great distress.\u00a0 Wage revision has been pending for the past nine years.\u00a0 It was last done in 1992 and it was over by 1996.\u00a0 From then on, this has been pending.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>There is another very serious issue. That is regarding the VRS.\u00a0 It was granted from their own funds and not from the National Renewal Fund.\u00a0 As far as the major public undertakings are concerned, generally it is granted from the National Renewal Fund.\u00a0 I would submit that because of this, about Rs. 500 crore have become the HMT&#8221;s debt.\u00a0Due to that, all units of the HMT, including the one in Kerala, are facing difficulties.\u00a0 They are also becoming the loss making units.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: You request the Government to look into this issue.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=SHRI%20P.C.%20THOMAS%20\">SHRI P.C. THOMAS <\/a>: The unit in Kerala is actually a profit-making one.\u00a0 I would submit that the Government should immediately respond to these issues, especially the issue of the employees. \u2026 (Interruptions)\u00a0 I would submit that the Government should take note of it and take necessary action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lok Sabha Debates Need To Look Into The Problems Of H.M.T.
