Ltd, Devangere\n                                                     ORDER\n<\/pre>\n<p>       The Commission has received a petition from Shri G Hanumantha Raju, stating that his<br \/>\nRTI-application of 03\/10\/2009 filed with the CPIO, The New India Assurance Co. Ltd,<br \/>\nDevanagar Divisional Office, No. 289\/12, 2nd floor, A M Arcades, C G Hospital Road, Devangere-<br \/>\n577002, has not been responded to within the time limit prescribed under the RTI-Act 2005. A<br \/>\ncopy of his RTI-application is enclosed.\n<\/p>\n<p>2.     The Commission has decided to treat this petition as a complaint under Section 18 of the<br \/>\nRTI-Act, 2005, and hereby directs the Public Information Officer, to take action as mandated under<br \/>\nthe RTI Act 2005.\n<\/p>\n<p>3.       Since the PIO has failed to respond to the RTI-application mentioned above in time, he\/she<br \/>\nis, therefore, required to send his\/her explanation in writing by 01\/11\/2010 to show cause as to why<br \/>\na penalty of Rs.25,000\/-for delay in supply of information may not be levied upon him\/her.<br \/>\nHe\/she should also appear before this Commission at\u00a0 NIC, District Centre, C\/O Deputy<br \/>\nCommissioners Office, P.B. Road, Davangere-577002 (Contact Officer: Mr. H.R.<br \/>\nUdayakumar, Scientist-C &amp; DIO &amp; Contact No. 08192-234104)\u00a0 on\u00a0 08\/11\/2010 at 12:00<br \/>\npm along with all the relevant files\/documents.\n<\/p>\n<p>4.     For this hearing, he\/she may bring along with him\/her other officials whose assistance has<br \/>\nbeen sought for replying to the RTI-application.\n<\/p>\n<p>5.     In case the complainant receives the desired information he may also inform to the<br \/>\nCommission through Fax (Fax no. is given above).
