The amendment petition filed by the defendants was dismissed after appraising the facts of the case. The lower Court has mentioned that the applicant-landlord closed his evidence on 19.10.1992. The defendants wanted to plead by way of moving the amendment petition that on 13.8.1992 the defendant-tenants and petitioner- landlord entered into a compromise that the landlord would withdraw his ejectment petition as the defendant-tenants has paid all the rental arrears and other charges to the landlord. Hence, after this compromise, the landlord has no ground to seek tenants&#8217; ejectment on the ground of non-payment of rent. The trial Court has held that no such question was put to the applicant-landlord when he entered the witness box on 19.10.1992 and further such a compromise cannot be effected without executing a writing as the tenant is the office of Punjab State Electricity Board.\n<\/p>\n<p>2.
