SANKARAN, J.\n             ...................................................................................\n                       CONTEMPT CASE (C) No. 842 OF 2004\n               ...................................................................................\n                              Dated this the 13th March, 2008\n\n\n                                           J U D G M E N T\n<\/pre>\n<p>H.L. Dattu, C.J.:\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>        Pursuant to the directions issued by us, the Secretary of Cochin<\/p>\n<p>Corporation is present before us.\n<\/p>\n<p>        2.    The complainant in the Contempt Case would allege that the<\/p>\n<p>respondents have deliberately and wilfully disobeyed their own undertaking<\/p>\n<p>given before this court.              Therefore he requests us to initiate appropriate<\/p>\n<p>contempt proceedings against the Secretary of Cochin Corporation and<\/p>\n<p>punish the Secretary for the alleged wilfull and deliberate disobedience of the<\/p>\n<p>undertaking given by her before this Court.<\/p>\n<p>        3. Number of affidavits were filed by the respondents. Since we<\/p>\n<p>were not satisfied with the affidavits, we have directed the Secretary of<\/p>\n<p>Cochin Corporation to be present before this Court for the purpose of framing<\/p>\n<p>charges.\n<\/p>\n<p>        4. Today, learned Counsel Shri Ramesh Babu, appearing for the<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of the Corporation, on instruction, would submit that the Secretary<\/p>\n<p>of Corporation will comply with the undertaking given by her in O.P. No.<\/p>\n<p>28312 of 2000 dated 15.10.2003, within a period one year from today. An<\/p>\n<p>affidavit in this regard is filed and the same is taken on record.<\/p>\n<p>        5. Taking note of the request made in the affidavit of undertaking<\/p>\n<p>filed by the Secretary of the Corporation of Cochin before us today, we are of<\/p>\n<p>CONTEMPT CASE (C) No. 842 OF 2004<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hidden_text\">                                     2<\/span><\/p>\n<p>the opinion that some more time requires to be granted to the Secretary of<\/p>\n<p>the Corporation to comply with the undertaking given by her before this Court<\/p>\n<p>in O.P.No. 28312 of 2000. Accordingly, we pass the following:<\/p>\n<p>                               O R D E R<\/p>\n<p>        i)     For the present, we close the proceedings in this Contempt<\/p>\n<p>Case.\n<\/p>\n<p>        ii)    The affidavit of undertaking filed by the Secretary of<\/p>\n<p>Corporation of Cochin today is placed on record.<\/p>\n<p>        iii)   The Secretary of Corporation of Cochin is granted one more<\/p>\n<p>year from today to comply with the undertaking given by her in O.P.No. 28312<\/p>\n<p>of 2000.\n<\/p>\n<p>        iv)    The Secretary of Corporation of Cochin shall not ask for any<\/p>\n<p>further extension of time.\n<\/p>\n<p>        v)     Liberty is also reserved to the complainant to approach this<\/p>\n<p>Court , if need arises in future.\n<\/p>\n<p>        Ordered accordingly.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>                                                   H.L.
