Respondents\n\nPRAYER\n\nWrit petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India,\npraying to issue a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to instruct\npolice parties, who are all approaching the members of the petitioner's\nassociation in the name of enquiry, preventing them from harassing the\npetitioner's members and observe most courtesy while dealing with the jewelers\nand consequently, directing the police parties to abide the directions issued by\nthe Government of Tamilnadu in G.O.No.1416, dated 22.10.1999, by considering the\nrepresentations given by the petitioner dated 10.10.2008.\n\n!For Petitioner\t... Mr.D.Sasikumar\n\t\t    Government Advocate\n    \t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t  * * * *\t\n:ORDER\n<\/pre>\n<p>\tThis writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to instruct<br \/>\nthe police parties, who are all approaching the members of the petitioner&#8217;s<br \/>\nassociation in the name of enquiry, not to harass the members of the<br \/>\npetitioner&#8217;s Sangam and observe most courtesy while dealing with the jewelers<br \/>\nand consequently direct the police parties to abide the directions issued by the<br \/>\nGovernment of Tamilnadu in G.O.No.1416, dated 22.10.1999, by considering the<br \/>\nrepresentation given by the petitioner dated 10.10.2008.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and also Mr.D.Sasikumar,<br \/>\nlearned Government Advocate, who took notice on behalf of the respondents.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t3. The grievance of the petitioner&#8217;s Sangam as aired by the learned<br \/>\ncounsel for the petitioner placing reliance on the averments in the affidavit<br \/>\naccompanying the writ petition, is to the effect that in Dindigul area, the<br \/>\njewelers are kept under tenderhooks, because of the arbitrary action in seizing<br \/>\ngold jewels and ingots under the pretext of seizing stolen articles and that too<br \/>\nwithout adhering to the mandates of the Government of Tamil Nadu in G.O.No.1416<br \/>\ndated 22.10.1999. Hence, this writ petition.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t4. Heard the learned Government Advocate.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t5. Hence, in these circumstances, the following direction is issued:<br \/>\n\tThe respondents 2 and 3 shall see that the G.O.Ms.No.1416 dated 22.10.1999<br \/>\nis followed in letter and spirit by the police in the process of investigation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\t6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
