The Appellant, in his RTI request dt.26.5.08, wanted the Statement of<br \/>\n      Accounts in his Savings Account in Tilak Nagar Post Office from 1999<br \/>\n      to 2008, since he found a number of discrepancies.           The CPIO<br \/>\n      provided him with a ledger copy of the account vide his reply<br \/>\n      dt.28.5.08. The CPIO stated that the case is being entrusted to PRI<br \/>\n      (P) and further communication would follow.       The first appeal was<br \/>\n      preferred on 9.7.08 in which the Appellant reiterated his request for<br \/>\n      the statement of accounts.     On not receiving any reply from the<br \/>\n      Appellate Authority, the Appellant preferred a second appeal before<br \/>\n      the CIC on 11.8.08.\n<\/p>\n<p>2.    The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner,<br \/>\n      scheduled the hearing for October 17, 2008.\n<\/p>\n<p>3.    Mr.   Rajinder Singh was present in person at the hearing.\n<\/p>\n<p>4.     Mr. A. Prakash (CPIO) &amp; Mr. U.S. Gaur, Appellate Authority &amp; CPGM<br \/>\nrepresented the Public Authority,<br \/>\n Decision\n<\/p>\n<p>5.    The CPIO informed the Commission that the Appellant&#8217;s Account was<br \/>\n      transferred in 2001 to the present Post Office in Tilak Nagar.       He<br \/>\n      stated that he had provided the Appellant with statement of accounts<br \/>\n      starting from 2001 till the present date.    He also said that he had<br \/>\n      asked the Appellant to provide his Passbook so that any discrepancy<br \/>\n      may be corrected which the Appellant refused. The Appellant, who<br \/>\n      arrived late at the hearing, submitted that he is not willing to provide<br \/>\n      the Passbook.\n<\/p>\n<p>6     The Commission directs the CPIO to provide the Appellant with a<br \/>\n      certified copy of the statement of Accounts starting from 1999 till the<br \/>\n      time the Account was transferred to the Post Office in Tilak Nagar<br \/>\n      where the present Account is being held, within 15 days of receipt of<br \/>\n      this Order, free of cost.\n<\/p>\n<p>7.
