KRISHNAN <\/a>: Thank you Sir, for giving me this opportunity to speak about a very sad incident that has occurred in Tamil Nadu\u2026 (Interruptions)\u00a0 I am speaking on behalf of MDMK headed by Shri Vaiko who has visited that place to console the people. <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: Except Dr. C. Krishnan\u2019s submission, nothing else will be recorded.in  <\/p>\n<p>(Interruptions) \u2026*  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=DR.%20C.%20KRISHNAN%20\">DR. C. KRISHNAN <\/a>: Mr. Speaker Sir, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to speak about a very sad incident that has occurred in Tamil Nadu on the early morning of 18th December 2005. <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: These are not matters of Central Government at all.\u00a0 I have already mentioned it.  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=DR.%20C.%20KRISHNAN%20\">DR. C. KRISHNAN <\/a>: Sir, we want to bring it to the notice of the House what is happening in Tamil Nadu.\u00a0The thing is that these people had assembled in the mid-night, which was most unwanted and unwarranted.\u00a0 It was to be questioned.\u00a0 They assembled there and the police did not take care of the people who were assembled there.\u00a0 There were about 4,000 people assembled thinking that the ration cards or the tokens would be issued to them\u2026 (Interruptions) <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: I have mentioned it from the Chair.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>__________________________________________________________________ <\/p>\n<p>*Not Recorded <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=DR.%20C.%20KRISHNAN%20\">DR. C. KRISHNAN <\/a>: All of a sudden there was a stampede and 42 people died on the spot; about 37 people have been admitted in the hospital.\u00a0 This is most unfortunate and unwanted.\u00a0 There is a lapse on behalf of the Government officials for not restricting the assembly there.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>Sir, a similar incident had occurred at Vyasarpadi\u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: You are allowing the State matters to be raised.\n<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=DR.%20C.%20KRISHNAN%20\">DR. C. KRISHNAN <\/a>: Sir, six people died for the first time when it occurred and now 42 people have died.\u00a0They were all poor people. <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: Shri L. Ganesan, Dr R. Senthil, Shri S.K. Kharventhan, Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh, Shri C. Kuppusami, Shri S. Ravichandran, A.V. Bellarmin and Shri P. Mohan.\u00a0 Their names will be recorded as having associated on this matter.  <\/p>\n<p>\u2026 (Interruptions)\n<\/p>\n<p>________________  <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"marker_ref\" href=\"\/search\/?formInput=MR.%20SPEAKER\">MR. SPEAKER<\/a>: Please sit down, when I am on my legs.\u00a0 I have raised it from the Chair.\u00a0 I have allowed you, although it is a State matter because large number of people are involved.\u00a0 It is a question of being affected by natural disasters and people have suffered again.\u00a0 You have raised it further[r16]\u00a0.  <\/p>\n<p>All these hon. Member\u2019s names have been recorded.\u00a0 I am sure \u2013 the Government is here \u2013 they will take it into consideration.\u00a0They are very worthy representatives of Tamil Nadu here in the Government.\u00a0 How are you serving your State or the people by shouting like this \u2013 I am sorry to use that expression \u2013 and taking this House\u2019s time?
