National Investigative Agency (NIA) court on Monday sent 12 suspected terrorists, arrested from different parts of the country, to police custody till February 5. All the terror suspects were brought amid high security in Delhi by the NIA. The suspected terrorists were presented before the NIA court.

Seeking remand of the accused, NIA said that suspects were in communication with some active ISIS members through apps like Trillian and Skype. The court accepted NIA application for remand and sent 12 terrorists to police custody. They were part of a group named ‘Janood-ul-Khalifa-e-Hind’ (Army of Caliph of India), a terror group which has almost similar ideologies that of ISIS.

In a major anti-terror swoop across the country on january 22, ahead of Republic Day, 14 youths were arrested or detained from different parts of the country by NIA after they allegedly formed a module on the pattern of dreaded ISIS to carry out strikes at vital installations. NIA, assisted by state police forces, conducted the raids in Karnataka, Hyderabad, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh and arrested the alleged ISIS operatives. A day after, NIA also arrested two more youths for alleged ISIS links.d to be a main recruiter for the ISIS. NIA claimed that Shaikh was part of sleeper cell of the terror outfit.
