The vigilance department of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken action against 32 of its officials for involvement in corruption in the last three years, a response to an RTI query showed.
“The 32 officials had to face action for involvement in different cases of corruption. The guilty were warned, punished and transferred to different departments. However, some of the officials had to pay a penalty,” a reply to a petition filed under the Right To Information (RTI) said.

As per the RTI list, around six people were found guilty in 2010, 17 in 2011 and nine in 2012. Two people were found guilty this year.

The vigilance cell of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has given some information about details of complaints that resulted in action against CBI personnel in the last three years.
Most other units of the CBI did not provide information on corruption charges against personnel, or charges of human rights violations.
