A magisterial inquiry ordered by the Bombay High court into allegations against former Mumbai city Congress chief Kripashankar Singh that he had grabbed properties of local Congress leader Tulsidas Nair, a resident of Kalina, and that Singh had intimidated him, has given Singh a clean chit.

The inquiry report was submitted to the High Court by the state government in January and copies were given to parties to the case on Thursday.

Nair, the president of the Rahul Gandhi National Brigade Wing, had alleged that Singh usurped his properties in Kalina, Vakola and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and at Singh’s behest criminal cases had been filed against him on account of “political rivalry and jealousy”. Nair had moved court and sought protection from Singh’s “hitmen.” The High Court had ordered a magisterial inquiry into Nair’s allegations and granted him police protection.

The case had in November taken a new twist after a woman, Twinder Pal Anand, claimed in the High Court that the said property in Kalina was hers and she had rented it to Nair. She claimed Nair usurped it and she had obtained an eviction notice against him.
