Court breather for 4 disqualified JD(U) MLAs

The Patna High Court on Tuesday reinstated membership of four rebel Janata Dal-United MLAs, who were earlier disqualified by the Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhury for their alleged “anti-party activities”.“The activities of the disqualified MLAs were not an act of defection but dissension,” the court in the judgment said.

In November 2014, the Speaker had terminated membership of JD(U) MLAs Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, Neeraj Kumar Babloo, Rahul Sharma and Ravindra Rai for their “anti-party activities during the Rajya Sabha by-poll”.

Reacting to the judgment, Mr. Gyanu said that he had full faith in the judiciary and it has been delivered.
