A Delhi court on Saturday found sufficient evidence to put to trial 13 suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in the 2008 serial blasts in New Delhi, in which 26 people were killed. Charges against them would be framed Feb 21.

Additional Sessions Judge Santosh Snehi Mann said there was sufficient evidence to put the 13 accused to trial for their alleged involvement in the conspiracy of carrying out the blasts.

She also said that all the 13 suspected accused should be present in court on February 21 as charges would be framed against them.

The court issued warrants against all the accused to ensure their presence on February 21. Two of the accused are in Tihar jail in New Delhi and 11 are in a court in Gujarat in connection with serial blasts in Ahmedabad.

The court earlier discharged accused Salman, saying that there was insufficient evidence against him. The proceedings took place through video conferencing.

All the accused are facing charges under penal provisions including murder, attempt to murder and waging war against the nation, under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act.

Four blasts at Connaught Place, Karol Bagh and Greater Kailash shook Delhi on September 13, 2008, within a span of 31 minutes, killing 26 people and injuring 135 others.
