High Court asks CBI to form spl team to probe law grad’s murder

Madras High Court today directed the CBI Director to constitute a three-member Special Team to probe the murder of Law Graduate Satish Kumar under the direct supervision of an Additional Director.

When the petition filed by Satish Kumar’s Advocate-father Sankara Subbu came up for hearing, a Special Bench comprising Justices C Nagappan and Sivakumar, which had transferred the probe to CBI on June 16 this year, said the special team should comprise officers from outside Tamil Nadu.

The probe should be conducted under the supervision of Addtional Director Salim Ali and the team should submit its report to the Court in a month’s time.

The Bench had on October 11 expressed dissatisfcation over the progress made by the CBI in investigating the case and asked the CBI Director to appear before the court.
