IPS officer’s murder main accused Bail plea rejected

Manoj Gurjar, main accused in the IPS officer’s murder case and a suspected member of mining mafia’s  bail application was rejected by a local court.

Hearing the plea moved on June 22, Fourth Additional District and Sessions Judge Anupan Shrivastava said the crime involved an IPS officer’s murder, which was very serious in nature, and hence bail could not be granted to the accused, according to court sources.

Gurjar, who was not brought to the court yesterday, is currently in judicial custody and lodged in jail here.CBI, which probed the  IPS officer’s murder case, filed a charge- sheet against him in a Special Court here on June 6.

Special CBI Court, presided over by Judicial Magistrate Shubhra Singh, will take up the case on July 2.On the first day, the court will decide whether to shift the trial to Morena (where the murder took place) or conduct it here as desired by the accused in a petition filed earlier this month.

Gurjar allegedly mowed down the 32-year-old Singh, posted as Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) at Barmore town in Morena district on March 8, when he tried to intercept a tractor-trolley laden with illegally mined stones
