Journalist Syed Mohammed Ahmad Kazmi, arrested for alleged involvement in the Israeli embassy car blast case, Saturday moved an application in court, seeking the names of the interrogators who quizzed him during his custody.

Kazmi’s counsel Gajinder Kumar moved the application asking details of the interrogators.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Vinod Yadav asked police to file its reply on Kazmi’s application and listed the matter for further argument on Kazmi’s bail application for April 2.

Meanwhile, public prosecutor Rajiv Mohan opposed the bail application, saying that investigation is in an initial stage.

Noting that police investigation is moving around terror charges, and thus the accused must be not granted bail, Mohan said that there is prima facie evidence is made out against Kazmi under the charges of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Mohan told court that for considering of bail application of the accused, it has to be taken into note that a case against him under the act is made or not.

Kazmi moved his bail application Friday on the grounds of police’s submission that interrogation is completed.

Kazmi’s counsel Kumar requested court to grant him bail, arguing that police made him an accused because he was “supporting a cause and policy matter (Iran) which is against someone (Israel)”.

On Feb 13, four people were injured when an Israeli embassy car was struck by a bomb near the prime minister’s house.

Tal Yehoshua Koren, wife of the Israeli defence attache, suffered multiple injuries when a motorcycle rider attached a magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within seconds, the device exploded with a thunderous sound, setting the car on fire.
