Sikhs in the Kashmir valley Saturday alleged that they are being neglected by both the central and the state governments.

Jagmohan Singh Raina, chairman of all parties Sikh coordination committee, Kashmir told media persons here: “In 1947, 35,000 Sikhs were killed because of the strife, and since then we continue to suffer in Kashmir.

“The Sikh community has been the worst sufferer because of the lingering political dispute over Kashmir.”

Kashmir Sikhs have demanded that the special internal displacement certificate, given to migrant Pandits, be extended to them as well.

The Sikh leaders have also demanded that the Chattisinghpora Sikh massacre of 2000 be transparently probed and the guilty should be turned over to justice.

A national-level ethnic Sikh conference will be held here Aug 17-18 to highlight the problems and sufferings of the local Sikhs, the leaders said.
