PM to grace 150th anniversary fete of Bombay HC

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would be the Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony of the year-long sesquicentennial celebrations of the Bombay High Court at National Centre for Preforming Arts (NCPA) here on August 18. The other dignitaries who would grace the occasion include Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Union Law Minister Salman Kurshid, a release from the High Court said today. To mark completion of 150 years of establishment of the High Court, a special postal cover shall be released at the hands of Milind Deora, Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, at the Central Hall in the High Court on August 14. The Chief Justice of the High Court, Mohit Shah would preside over the function. On August 15, an exhibition will be inaugurated by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan in the Central Court Hall. The exhibition, to remain open till August 16, will display important artifacts, documents and articles of historical significance, the release added.
